Is there an ALEKS answer key? ›

The worksheet answer key is automatically sent to the Master Account via the ALEKS Message Center.

Webcam Surveillance: ALEKS watches your face through your webcam for any suspicious activity. You will be marked as cheating if you are observed looking away from your screen or acting in any other suspicious way.

Work in ALEKS regularly.

You could end up spending twice as much time in learning than if you spread out your learning into shorter and more frequent sessions. If at all possible, schedule 20-45 minutes with ALEKS every day.

Your placement result (overall score) is a number between 0 and 100. It represents the percentage of topics ALEKS has identified you have mastered.

What if I don't do well on the test? All students will have one opportunity to retake the exam during the summer, and additional opportunities during the school year. Before retaking the exam you will need to spend eight hours in an ALEKS learning module.

Taking the math placement test requires using Respondus Monitor, a video monitoring service that uses the Respondus Lockdown Browser. It serves as a deterrent to students using secondary computers, phones, calculators, textbooks, or receiving assistance from other students.

The blue triangle in both the class and individual level reports denotes when students have spent time in an ALEKS assessment. Purpose: Instructors can view detailed, daily activity for the class for up to a two week period; individual student data can be viewed for up to 6 months.

Respondus Monitor is an automated proctoring system that uses webcam and video analytics to prevent cheating during remote, online exams. Respondus Monitor integrates seamlessly with the ALEKS and ALEKS Placement, Preparation and Learning (ALEKS PPL) solutions by McGraw Hill.

Please keep in mind that ALEKS scores are not grades like on a class exam. A score of 30 or higher reflects that a student is adequately prepared for college-level mathematics. Higher level scores representative an adequate preparedness for higher level courses.

How many attempts are there for ALEKS? ›

You have five attempts at the placement exam and access to a Prep & Learning Module for preparation. After each attempt, you must wait 24 hours and spend 3 hours in the module before retaking the exam. Early and dedicated effort will improve your chances of success in MTH 1320 or MTH 1321. What is ALEKS?

There is no time limit for ALEKS, but you should allow a minimum of 90 minutes to complete your exam. You may not use a calculator, books, notes, or any other resources except for scratch paper. A calculator will be provided within the ALEKS programs when appropriate. You may repeat the ALEKS exam.

The individual Time and Topic Report can be viewed in any time interval up to six months. This report displays for the date range selected: 1) the total time the student has spent working in ALEKS, 2) the number of topics the student attempted, and 3) the number of topics mastered.

At the other extreme, it is not unusual for students to take 100 hours or more to complete a course; these are mostly cases where students were placed into a course that is too advanced. As a general rule, most students should plan to spend at least 40 hours in ALEKS to complete a course.

Go to www.aleks.com and click on the “Free Trial” link located on the top right-hand side of the ALEKS homepage. *Free trial is limited to three total hours that can be used across the duration of five days. Step 3. In the “Explore Student Module” box, click on the “Try ALEKS Now” button.
