How shouldI thrift shop for clothes?
- RESEARCH:Look up all thrift stores in your area to figure out a game plan of how you will tackle each shop. Maybe one store specializes in the Y2K fashion trend while another is stocked up on the '60s mod fad. Know where you want to go before leaving your home.
- DONATE:Most resale stores will buy your clothes; some even do trades. Clean out your closet to make room for new vintage wear.
- TAKE YOUR TIME:There's no rush when it comes to shopping. Go through each aisle and dig through each bucket on the ground. You never know if you'll find that perfect article of clothing if you're not being patient.
- TAKE A RISK:Fashion is all about being comfortable while looking stylish. Maybe you think yellow isn't your color, but you find a jacket that is a honey mustard yellow with white trimming and you're on the fence about it. Take that chance and buy it; trust us.
- SHOP OFF SEASON:It's fall right now, so start to look for clothes you can wear in the spring or summer. Being in South Texas, it's summer three seasons out of the year, but you get the idea.
